Location.Villa Mar Azul is a whitewashed apart hotel built in a traditional Portuguese style, set 200 metres from the Porto de Mos Beach and 1.5 kilometres from the centre of Lagos. Meia Praia Beach is three kilometres away. Faro International Airport is 75 kilometres distance, an approximate driving time of 45 minutes.
Hotel Features.The apartments are set in pretty sub tropical gardens and free parking is adjacent. Guests can enjoy the use of facilities at the sister hotel, Costa D'Oiro, which is 600 metres away. Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, a children's pool, a 24 hour front desk and tour assistance.
Apartments. The 10 apartments, over two floors, have Portuguese style decor and simple, modern furnishings. All include balconies, satellite television, direct dial phones, air conditioning, safes, hair dryers and housekeeping. The kitchenettes offer microwaves, tea and coffee making facilities and refrigerators.
Expert Tip.The 18th century Church of San Antonio, two kilometres from the hotel, has some of Portugal's finest baroque gilt carvings fashioned from Brazilian gold.

Getting there. Trains run between Faro airport and Lagos railway station, which is approximately three kilometres from the hotel. Guests will find taxis at the station. Taxis are also available from the airport, and the fare to the hotel is around 80 EUR. The best way to see the surrounding countryside is to hire a car. Trains and buses also run between the major towns in the area.
