The Estrela do Vau Apartments are set in gardens with two swimming pools, two kilometres from the lively seaside town of Praia da Rocha. The 174 apartments over four floors have neutral decor, bright fabrics, functional furnishings and balconies. All have kitchenettes with cookware, dishes and microwave ovens. They are equipped with satellite television, direct dial phones, dial up Internet connections and climate control. Childcare is available in room for a surcharge and cribs are available on request. The private bathrooms come with bidets.
The hotel has two adult pools in the landscaped grounds as well as a poolside bar and children's pool. There is also a playground for kids and supervised children's activities are available during the summer season. There is a grocery shop on site, currency exchange is available and dial up Internet access is on offer for a surcharge. Multilingual staff at the 24 hour front desk are happy to help with tour assistance. There is a concierge desk and a dry cleaning service and laundry facilities are available. The Restaurant Estrela do Vau is a family establishment serving regional and international cuisine and the Bar Estrela do Vau is a casual bar with live entertainment during the summer. The Poolside Bar serves drinks and snacks by the two pools in the summer. The fishing village of Alvor is three kilometres from the hotel and the historic town of Lagos is 17 kilometres away. Faro Airport is 60 kilometres from the hotel, an approximate driving time of 45 minutes. A mini bus is available for a fee to Portimao and Praia da Rocha e Alvor.
